Beautiful Vacation Studios. Your Home Away from Home. Wir Sprechen Deutsch.
Bears' Place Guest House is a great home-base for exploring the Big Island of Hawaii. We are centrally located on the hillside 7 miles north of downtown Kailua Kona, at a comfortable elevation. Our quiet neighborhood is only a ten minute drive from Kailua Town, the beautiful beaches along the Kona-Kohala Coast and the airport (no noise). We are half a mile away from the picturesque Makalei Hawaii Golf Course. Hilo, on the other side of the island, is only an hour and twenty minute drive and Volcanoes National Park is a great day trip.
"You have hospitality down to a fine art...and it is very much appreciated!!" - E&VP - Cranbook, B.C. Canada

We offer 5 beautiful vacation studios with ocean or garden views. Most have kitchenettes or a full kitchen, spacious covered lanai, private bath, LCD cable TV and free WiFi, onsite parking, beach towels and chairs, coolers and boogie boards.
All studios have comfortable queen size beds, and one or two sleeper sofas for extra guests. The Plumeria Suite also has a separate living room and walk-in closet. Laundry facilities are available.
A welcome of fresh tropical fruit, muffins, juice, coffee, tea and cocoa awaits our guests upon arrival. Wake up in the morning to the sound of birds singing, after a great rest in a comfortable bed and breakfast at your leisure. After a day of fun, relax on our expansive lanais and enjoy sunset views of the coastline.
"We enjoyed our stay at your beautiful guest house. We sure missed your quiet place once we moved to Alii Drive!" R&T C - Thorne Bay, Alaska
Anne Stockel and daughter, Nanette, have lived in Kona for over 25 years and have explored the Big Island extensively. We will be glad to help you plan your daily adventures.
We especially enjoy our European visitors, as we both speak German.
"The rooms were spacious and very clean. We felt at home from the first moment. The hosts, Anne and Nanette, are very friendly and gave us lots of hints where to go. From the lanai we enjoyed beautiful sunsets and if we ever go back to Big Island we certainly will stay at Bear's Place again."- B &T K, Dubendorf, Switzerland
